Helen Metcalfe Counselling
How counselling can help
As well as providing a safe space to explore personal difficulties and emotions, counselling can support us in understanding ourselves and our relationships with those around us. Counselling can help us to develop more of a sense of who we are, helping us to feel more resilient and able to make the choices that feel right for us.
Research shows that the relationship you have with your counsellor is fundamental to how successful and positive your counselling experience is. With this in mind I offer a free 30 minute consultation for us to explore how we might work together and what you feel you need and want from counselling.
You would be at the heart of our work, as we go at your pace, in exploring the feelings or difficulties you are experiencing, helping you to feel more empowered in moving forward and make the changes in your life, which are right for you.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
Carl R. Rogers
